What stays on your device

Free simulations, uploaded tribute images, custom names, and most game settings run in your browser. We do not upload or store those images or simulation results on our servers unless a feature clearly says otherwise.

Cast Collector Chrome extension

If you install Cast Collector, the names and optional public image URLs you choose are stored in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. The extension does not read pages in the background, collect browsing history, download images, or send a cast automatically.

Your cast is transferred only after you click Use in Hunger Games Simulator. A short-lived, one-time token lets this website request the cast from the extension. You see a preview and must confirm before the current local project is replaced. Tribute names, image URLs, source pages, selected text, and the token are excluded from our analytics and server logs.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Cast Collector's use and transfer of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data selected in the extension is used only to provide the user-requested cast collection and import features. It is not sold, used for personalized advertising or credit decisions, or transferred for unrelated purposes.

Account and payment data

  • Google login: if you choose Creator Pass, we receive your Google email, name, profile image, verification status, and Google account ID so we can bind your purchase to an account.
  • Creem payments: Creem processes checkout, tax, receipts, refunds, and disputes. We store order IDs, customer email, product, amount, status, and webhook records so Creator Pass can be granted or revoked correctly.
  • Checkout attribution: when you start Creator Pass checkout before signing in, we create a random, short-lived checkout-intent identifier so that action can be linked to your account after Google login and then to the resulting order. We store the checkout source, first landing path, referring hostname, campaign tags, coarse device category, and analytics consent status. If analytics consent is granted, we also store pseudonymous visitor, session, and GA client identifiers so a payment can be matched to consented GA4 and Clarity activity. The intent expires after 24 hours, contains no tribute names, uploaded images, or game results, and does not grant paid access by itself.
  • Support: if you email us, we receive the message and email address you provide.

Analytics and ads

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand usage, diagnose bugs, and improve the simulator. We use Adsterra banner ads to support the free version. These services may receive device, browser, approximate location, page URL, click, scroll, and cookie information under their own policies.

Checkout exit feedback

If you return to this site shortly after opening Creator Pass checkout without completing payment, we may ask what stopped you. A short-lived same-tab marker lets the page request an eligibility check, while a signed browser cookie and our payment database confirm that the checkout is yours and remains unpaid. The marker does not contain your checkout ID, email, payment data, cast, or uploaded content.

You can choose one fixed reason and, only for “Something else,” optionally provide up to 300 characters. We store the reason, sanitized optional text, checkout source and placement, coarse device category, language, timestamps, notification status, and the internal checkout relationship needed to prevent duplicates and compare the answer with a later order. We do not store your raw IP address, user agent, email, payment details, tribute data, browser fingerprint, or checkout token for this survey.

Each saved answer is sent as a redacted internal notification through Feishu/Lark so we can review checkout problems promptly. Optional text is deleted after 90 days; aggregate reason counts, delivery status, and payment-audit relationships may be retained longer for product measurement, fraud prevention, and accounting integrity. You can close the question without answering or request deletion at support@hungergamesimulator.org.

How we use data

  • Provide the simulator and Creator Pass features.
  • Restore paid access after Google login on another device.
  • Process checkout, refunds, disputes, and support requests.
  • Measure feature usage and fix usability issues.
  • Prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases

  • Contract performance: account login, Creator Pass access, checkout, refunds, and support.
  • Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, bug diagnosis, service reliability, and product improvement.
  • Consent: non-essential analytics, advertising cookies, and similar browser storage where consent is required.
  • Legal obligations: payment, tax, dispute, and compliance records.

Service providers

We operate from Beijing, China and use service providers that may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on provider safeguards and contractual terms for international transfers.

  • Creem: checkout, tax, receipts, refunds, and disputes.
  • Google OAuth: optional login for Creator Pass account recovery.
  • Cloudflare and Neon: web hosting, server-side functions, security delivery, and database storage.
  • Feishu/Lark: restricted internal delivery of redacted checkout-exit feedback and operational alerts.
  • Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Plausible: analytics and product diagnostics after consent where required.
  • Adsterra: advertising on free pages.
  • Sentry: error monitoring with raw payment payloads, API keys, and OAuth tokens excluded from our reporting code.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies for login sessions, analytics, advertising, and basic site preferences. We use browser local or session storage for custom tribute settings, custom event packs, Cast Collector's current local cast, language choices, local simulator state, and pseudonymous analytics correlation identifiers after analytics consent. You can clear local storage from your browser or remove the extension at any time.

Data retention

Local simulator data remains on your device until you clear it. Account records are kept while your account is active. Purchase, refund, dispute, and webhook records are kept as long as needed to provide Creator Pass, handle support, meet payment/legal obligations, and prevent duplicate access errors. Sanitized optional checkout-exit feedback text is deleted after 90 days; the fixed reason and non-text audit fields may be retained for longer-term aggregate analysis and payment reconciliation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, export, or restriction of personal data. Email support@hungergamesimulator.org. We may need to retain limited payment records where required for fraud, dispute, tax, or legal reasons.

Children

The service is intended for users 13 and older. Users under 13 need parental permission and supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
